Farimah Schuerman was a player in the birth, introduction, and successful adoption and of many unexpected, and exciting new technologies:  videodisc, laserdisc, online reference, online courseware delivery – to name just a few.  Farimah’s market analysis, product development guidance, and market introduction planning experience and successes are broad and deep in K-12, college, and for profit higher education.  She has worked in face to face sales all over the country at the local, district, state, and national levels.

From videodisc reference and marketing and sales success with the then technologically state of the art product, The Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century©, to the beginning of significant development of standalone and online and courseware, Farimah understood the market forces at work and has helped her employers and clients manage the perilous waters.

Farimah was Executive Marketing Manager at Pearson Education Distance Learning, heading the marketing team that put Pearson solidly in the forefront of online education.

After Pearson, Farimah began her consultancy.   Farimah has helped large and small client companies form strategic relationships and joint ventures with such companies as The New York Times, Apple Computer, IBM, and Pioneer New Media.  In 2004 the partnership that became Academic Business Advisors began.

As an Active member of CoSN, the SIIA, as well as other industry associations Farimah is often called upon to develop or moderate sessions.  In addition Farimah is on the Board of Directors of ClassLink Technologies, on the editorial board of Learning Times, and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Digital Education. In 2006, Farimah was recognized as the CoSN Volunteer of the Year, and received the Pinnacle Award from Quality Education Data for her support of newcomers to Education Marketing.
