Join us for a lively program about finding a comfortable balance between being too “strict” or being too “soft” when it comes to disciplining.  This workshop will help you to understand your role as a disciplinarian as well as give you tips about how to approach discipline in the most effective way.

This lively webcast discussion will include presentations as well as interactive exercises. You will have the opportunity to listen to and share with other parents your stories and issues related to disciplining your children.

We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 from 9:00 to 10:30 pm EST.

PARENTING CENTER TIP:

Whenever possible, give your children choices, all of which are acceptable to you.  For example, which do they want to do first:  put on their pajamas or brush their teeth?; take out the trash or do their homework? By allowing children to have a say in areas that effect them, you will be modeling respect, lessening power struggles, and encouraging cooperation because children are more likely to go along with rules, chores or plans when they have had a say in deciding them.
