SANTA CLARA, Calif. and BRANFORD, Conn. -- May 5, 2005 -- WebEx Communications (Nasdaq: WEBX - News), the leading provider of web meeting applications, has partnered with InSync Training, and LearningTimes to offer a web training certification course designed to help customers optimize their online training programs and maximize their WebEx Training Center investment. The LearningTimes Certified Synchronous Training Professional™ (CSTP) program is an industry-recognized certification course designed to enhance the ability of training professionals to design, deliver, and implement effective live online training.

By offering certification services in conjunction with the WebEx Training Center application, the partners are equipping training professionals with the skills needed to effectively increase the success and value of their training programs through synchronous online learning.

LearningTimes "CSTP™ program graduates are setting new standards across every industry for quality and creativity in live online training," said Jennifer Hofmann, president of InSync Training and author of The Synchronous Trainer's Survival Guide. "We are excited about the opportunity to work with training professionals from around the globe to improve the overall quality and outcome of live online training."

"The CSTP program is designed to give people the information, tools and training they need to help their businesses experience the benefits of live online learning. Working with market experts such as InSync is helping to extend the reach, specialization and value of our new consultative services."

The LearningTimes Certified Synchronous Training Professional™ program is comprised of several tracks, including:

  • Synchronous Facilitation Certificate: Twelve hours of live, online
instruction blended with self-directed exercises and assignments
designed to help maximize the engagement of remote participants and manage the logistics of facilitating synchronous events.
  • Synchronous Design Certificate: Fourteen hours of live, online
instruction blended with self-directed exercises and assignments
designed to help trainers and facilitators create collaborative
exercises using synchronous tools and to design instructional materials to support their programs.
  • Capstone Certificate: The overall certification course pulls all
aspects of the program together, combining the Synchronous Facilitation and Design certificates with topics such as blending and creating successful online learning environments, together with an
    individualized practicum.
  • Synchronous Training Primer: Six hours of live, online instruction,
blended with self-directed exercises and assignments, designed to help participants become familiar with the learner experience, e-learning terminology, and the basics of synchronous design and facilitation.

CSTP courses are taught in a unique LearningTimes online community environment, which fosters collaboration, learning and professional networking among participants. "Through our work with InSync, we have put forth an effective blended teaching model," said John Walber, CEO of LearningTimes. "This has allowed a wonderful community of CSTPs to grow, with professional relationships that last long after class is over."
