Calendar entries in the Online Conference Community are displayed in both the "Original Entry Time" as well as in the "Adjusted Local Time". The "original" time for the conference is Eastern Daylight Time (New York Time), which is GMT -4. The "Adjusted Local Time" is the time that the event is taking place in your own local time zone. How does the Conference Community know what time zone you are in? When you create your LearningTimes account, you are asked to select your own time zone. That preference is stored with your account information. The community uses that setting to present you with an automatic translation to your local time zone whenever you log in. To verify (or modify) your time zone preference in the Conference Community, you may do the following: Inside the Conference Community, click the "Main" link, which is near the bottom of all of the left-hand navigation links. Under "My Account", click "Edit Profile". Check or modify your "Local Time" from the pull-down menu, and check whether Daylight Savings is used in your area. Then click the "Update Account" button. You're all set! The calendar entries should now always show the correct time of live events in your own local time zone. |
