Lisa Perez is an area library coordinator for the Chicago Public Schools Department of Libraries & Information Services. In this position, she supports the district’s high school librarians; serves as the district’s Professional Librarian; and coordinates a district-wide high school after-school book club. She also is the current chair of the ISTE Media Specialists SIG (SIGMS). In her spare time, she is active in the virtual learning environment, Second Life (SL), as the avatar Elaine Tulip. In SL, she organizes the AASL-SIGMS Virtual Learning Community, which meets monthly to discuss items of interest to school librarians. |
